Cameras

I'm a self-taught photographer starting in 2011.

Nikon
I bought my friend's Nikon D60 (plus Nikkor 50mm f1.4 lens and Sigma 30mm f1.4 lens) and just started going for it. I had that for a few years and it was a wonderful system. The photos that it produced were amazing, especially with the 50mm. I used that lens primarily for my documenting my outfits and portraits. After about 5 or 6 years, the screen started to malfunction so I had to move on.

Canon
I heard about the colours that Canon could produced, so I got myself a Canon D70 paired with Canon 18-135mm lens (my first zoom lens) and then added a Sigma 30mm f1.4 lens. The zoom lens was very versatile and I loved travelling with it. The 30mm f1.4 was used mainly for products and food photography.

Fujifilm
In 2022, I wanted a smaller form factor camera after starting a family. I just could not see myself carrying around this big-form factor body with big lens. Also I wanted to upgrade my technology. I was first intrigued with the Fujifilm xV100i series but felt not being able to change the lens was limiting. I opted for the X-T30ii with a 27mm f2.8 lens and loved it. Then I added a 18mm f2 lens and then the 23mm f2 lens a few months ago. And now I'm eying a zoom lens again for travel.

A few weeks ago my X-T30ii screen has unfortunately broke so now I've upgraded the body to a
X-T50 and wow, its buttery smooth. I was going to get the X-T5 but I felt the X-T50 body was well suited for my hand size.
