I had the absolute pleasure to dine at Olympic Meats, a premium grill restaurant in Marrickville. Funny story here, my friend tried to get us to go a place in Redfern that was similarly named, but sent us a screenshot of this place to the group chat instead. On the day of, we headed to Marrickville just as we planned; but my friend was convinced it should've been at Redfern. After much confusion, we stuck to Marrickville while my friend sheepishly realised she sent the wrong information. Luckily though, we liked the look of the food so we stayed.

The staff were very attentive and went through the menu with us. We ordered the below for a group of four:

Tirokafteri (feta dip, shallots, bullhorn peppers), Toursi (mixed pickles), Fava Dip (with mushrooms, bukovo and all spice), Pita Bread, Tallow Chips (triple cooked) and Meat Platter (Lamb, Chicken, Pork), Bougasta me krema (Phyllo pastry with custard and icing sugar), Portokalopita (dry phyllo, orange, caramalised orange syrup) , Ekmek Kataifi (Kataifi, almond crema, mastic cream, pistachio)

Toursi (mixed pickles) and Fava Dip (with mushrooms, bukovo and all spice)

I love pickles and was especially delighted to find they served picked chilli's here. I love heat in my food. The Fava (mushroom) dip and Tirokafteri (feta) dip was very good with the sourdough pita bread.

Tallow Chips (triple cooked) and Meat Platter (Lamb, Chicken, Pork)

The highlight for us girls was the triple cooked tallow chips (pictured above) and yeah honestly I didn't think they could pack this much flavour into hot chips. And well worth it. The Meat Platter was a good choice, we could pick three meats - I believe we went with the Chicken Gyro, Pork Gyro and Dry-aged lamb.

Desserts: Bougasta me krema (Phyllo pastry with custard and icing sugar), Portokalopita (dry phyllo, orange, caramalised orange syrup) , Ekmek Kataifi (Kataifi, almond crema, mastic cream, pistachio)

Then of course desserts, we ordered all three available from the menu and had a Greek coffee to go with it. Fantastic spread and we all went home full and happy.
