Bradleys Head Amphitheatre with My Fujifilm

Thank you for being here my friends, as I continue to travel and photograph Sydney with my Fujifilm camera. Here I brought along X-T30ii and my Fujinon 27mm f2.8 lens and drove me and some friends down to Bradleys Head to try and catch Golden Hour. We had just finished lunch at Burnt Orange in Mosmon, and decided to hang out at this beautiful amphitheatre. 

Getting here, we drove past Taronga Zoo and the Taronga Zoo Wharf to park at the end of the street, with some limited paid street parking. 

Once out of the car, we got a magnificent view. There were some beautiful stairs leading to the pier, with plenty of grassy areas to sit at. It was nice to see people sitting down and relaxing enjoying the outdoors.

After reaching the bottom, there is this small lighthouse to the left and we scrambled over the rocks to try and get closer but couldn't find access from where we were. We decided to stay and hang at the rocks, watching the sun go down and ferries go past. From here you can see the Centre Point Tower, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House - all iconic Sydney landmarks.

It was around 4pm that the sky started to turn into what us photographers call 'Golden Hour'. Its when photographers uses the soft, warm light during the final hour before sunset or the first hour after sunrise, so here we are. The angle of the sun turns the sky cinematic and in my opinion it looks best over the water. It glistens and dances like glitter with the waves. I was able to catch some beautiful frames with a slight haze on the horizon.

All in all, this place is such a nice place to visit if you want to photograph some lovely views. With my photos, I used the trees as a frame the photos, including them instead of try to fight them. I can envision some long exposure shots with the night sky or some sharper images with the use of a  higher aperture. I should try and do that, I always favour shooting in smaller aperture such as the f2.8 in this case; which is generally the opposite of what Landscape Photographers tend to do. Having a high aperture will mean all details will be in focus and the bokeh effect will reduce.
